I’ve got asked often from potential clients how much does a WordPress website cost? I’ve written earlier about how much it cost to make a website. I’ll try to be more specific about WordPress website costs in this blog post, because I give this answer often to inquiries we get for our WordPress website development services.
The simplest answer I can give is, a WordPress website can cost you from anything around $100 dollars to about $10,000 dollars. If you are doing it yourself (DIY) you can make a basic WordPress website for around $100. The WordPress software itself is free and you there are hundreds of free designs you can choose from for the look of your WordPress website. You’ll need to spend the $100 dollars annually to get the web hosting (to store the WordPress website online 24/7/365) and for the website domain address. (i.e. US$60-80 for a cheap web hosting, and $10-20 for the domain name registration)
But doing it yourself is not an option for everyone. What you save in money you will spend with your time. If you want a basic website like what you can get by doing it yourself by learning and tinkering around a few weeks, its worth paying someone to set it up and launch it with a day or two. They’ll charge you around $100 or $200 for that service. So that’s another WordPress website price point in the market. For total cost of $200-300 you then get a basic WordPress website with a free theme, setup and launched by a professional.
Then we come to professionally setup and built WordPress website pricing. You can get a professional WordPress website from a small web design agency like ours for around $600 to $2000 dollars. And we charge $1000 to $5000 for medium size website like WordPress powered ecommerce sites with online payment gateways setup or WordPress websites with custom developed special features and custom content management system (CMS) features. The final cost again depends on the WordPress website features, complexity, time, custom graphic designing, custom web development and programming requirements etc. In the past few years, we have undertaken to build many such small to medium size WordPress websites for businesses, companies, governments as well as individuals and personal WordPress blogs.
I hope this short blog post answers your question about how much does a WordPress website cost. I tried to share here a short explanation about WordPress website pricing according to current market rates. If you have anything to ask about WordPress website prices and costs please feel free to leave a comment. I’ll be glad to reply and try to help you.
